Wild but welcoming contemporary cultural experience with ancient origins.
Our proprietary ball ground Touchu flourishes in the mild coastal conditions of the Seto Inland Sea. These islands are a magical place where nearby contemporary art has transformed the previously unknown, sleepy fishing islands into one of the world’s top art pilgrimages.
The uniqueness of this tea mirrors the excitement of discovering the art riches hidden deep inside those incredible Ando architectural wonders of Naoshima.

Eucommia Ulmoides is indigenous to central China. It has been grown in the Seto Inland Sea since 1987. The rich soil and Mediteran-style sea breezes are credited with the superior reputation of our Tochu. Tochu is a very vigorous plant that has survived for about 60 million years overcoming the ice age. It also appears in the oldest pharmaceutical book in China and was described as a medicine for eternal youth and longevity. Today, its high efficacy has been scientifically proven, and its effects on fat combustion and blood pressure stabilization are well recognised. We drink SAMU tea first and foremost for its flavour but the health and physiological benefits are undeniable. Touchūcha has similar health-giving properties to matcha, being full of flavonoids it an an antioxidant and neuroprotective. It's also entirely free of caffeine. DIETARY: Vegan /
